Ruthless Entertainment Group (REG) is headed up by veteran producer and entrepreneur Mark McClure (see bio) and several other key industry veterans and is currently part of Mark McClure International but will branch off into its own entity end of April of 2012. The firm’s main focus and specialty is securing sponsorship financing and product placement for television and film projects, as well as securing equity and distribution for films on a case by case basis. From a production standpoint REG currently owns two 30 minute comedy shows, Inside Sports: News You Can Almost Trust (www.InsideSportsTVShow.com) and The Beer 30 Show and has three more pilots in development.  Inside Sports and Beer 30 will be tested nationally end of January in 2012 In addition REG assisted in the financing and distribution two successful infomercials; Sitting on Millions and Insane Marketing Strategies, both of which McClure wrote, helped finance and distribute. In addition, REG has successfully produced and financed infomercials for other business clients as well, and has the relationships from a production and financing standpoint to produce, finance and distribute virtually any infomercial project if it makes sense monetarily.

 
McClure formed REG in 2010 after more than a decade of building relationships and financing  numerous shows, pilots, infomercials, seminars and films nationally and internationally that he personally produced or co-produced.  Along the way McClure and his team built relationships with regional and FORTUNE 500 companies, producing customized sponsorship and product placement packages for them that allowed them to obtain branding within his shows and productions, which in turn gave him a significant revenue stream to finance his projects and realize profitability for himself and investors. In some cases, McClure was able to finance entire pilots or infomercials on sponsorships alone. 

REG has also partnered with a Boston based real estate and equity investment banking firm to assist in the financing of equity placement for films. We have the ability to underwrite projects in the range of $500,000 to $50 million that have bankable directors and actor(s) attached (see below). 

 

HOW WE DO, WHAT WE DO

REG will review your project and the scope of financing needed. If there is an interest on our end we will meet via phone and discuss expectations, time lines and other particulars of the project. If both parties are in agreement, you will sign an a Non-Disclosure  and Exclusivity Agreement with REG for a set period of time, typically 90 days, which will allow us to underwrite the financing and/or secure sponsorship and branding partners for your project in the most efficient and expeditious manner possible. 

                 Sponsorship/Branding and Product Placement 

Based on your projects topic and target audience, REG will formulate an array of sponsorship/branding and product placement opportunities that can be sold within your project and we will attach a monetary value to each of these opportunities that can be quantified and rationalized by a prospective sponsor. We will then contact potential sponsors that meet the criteria for one of your sponsorship/branding opportunities and would thus have an interest in reaching your target audience.  We will than customize the package to their specific needs, make the presentation and close the deal, in the process generating revenue for your film or TV project.

While we always secure cash from the sponsor, in some cases we are also able to secure cross branding opportunities, allowing you to promote your television or film project nationally or internationally within their stores or product line if possible. This in and of itself can sometimes be worth several hundred thousand dollars in branding.

                   Infomercial Production and Financing

REG will produce and partially finance viable infomercial projects that present considerable upside to the firm. In almost ALL cases REG will provide 50% of the financing, produce the infomercial and negotiate TV placement on networks that fit the infomercials demographics, however, REG will oversee the the fulfillment and call center negotiations to ensure the project is launched professionally.

Film Equity Placement
 
REG is able to procure equity financing for films on a case by case basis. We currently look at projects in the $100,000 to $50 million range that have veteran directors and actors attached (at this juncture, we are not in a position to consider projects spearheaded by first time directors). NOTE: For the smaller projects, these are typically pilots or infomercials.
 

If REG agrees to underwrite the placement of equity for your film we require that you sign a Non Disclosure Agreement along with a 90 day Exclusivity Agreement. Once both are signed, REG and our underwriting partners will meet with you to discuss expectations, time lines and procure all the necessary documentation to prepare a complete marketing package for our investors.  

Infomercial Financing and Distribution

REG has the ability to produce, finance and distribute infomercials if they have a solid concept and product coupled with an attractive demographics. Due to our relationships and track record of production REG has the ability to place these spots at drastically low prices on such networks as ION, Fox Business, Fox Regional outlets, CNBC, Versus, NBC, CBS, etc. 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do you get paid?

If REG takes on your project we take a nominal retainer at signing of agreement (which is broken down monthly), to help offset a lot of our upfront work, packaging and travel and this is applied towards our underwriting fee when we close on the financing. 
 

What is REG’s fee for services?
 

REG receives 20% on all sponsorship and product placement closed and 7-10% on equity placement. In some cases, REG may participate with the investor.

 
What is the typical timeframe to closing sponsorship opportunities for our project?
 

We are successful in most cases in 60 days or less. For equity placement, it may take longer based on the size and scope of the financing, but during that timeframe we are typically closing investors in segments, not all at once as we deal with high net worth individuals as well as equity groups.

Who will be investing in my film project if you underwrite it?
 
We work directly with our financing partner out of Boston and several high net worth individuals and hedge funds we have relationships with. Our partner has closed in excess of $500 million in debt and equity for commercial and investment real estate projects worldwide and has now agreed to underwrite equity for our film deals on a case by case basis as they branch off into entertainment.   In some cases REG may participate with the investors.  

How do I submit a proposal?
 

Simply email us an executive summary of the project with a detailed budget, any talent attachments, distribution agreements, etc. Our team will then review it and if we feel we can be successful in closing all or part of your financing/sponsorship requirements, we will get back to you to set up a phone meeting.
